Remarks on Xi’s Speech in World Economic Forum (WEF) Virtual Summit 2022

Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the 2022 Davos World Economic Forum (WEF) virtual session on Monday 17th and delivered remarks through a video link, reported state media Global Times. Jinping’s address came after China reportedly fulfilled its economic growth commitments made to the world at the WEF Davos back in 2017. The WEF virtual session is taking place from 17 to 21 January. 

President Xi Jinping’s World Economic Forum speech has ushered in fresh global cooperation and prosperity hope.

Xi’s speech made at the virtual event of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Beijing on Sunday, which putting forward valuable proposals for the development of global cooperation, peace and prosperity.

Xi said no matter the wind or the rain, human beings always have to move forward. We must be good at thinking from the comparative analysis of long-term historical cycles, and at the same time, we must be good at seeing changes in things from subtle points, nurturing new opportunities in crises, opening new situations in changing situations, and condensing powerful forces to overcome difficulties and challenges.

He said China will actively carry out international cooperation in addressing climate change and jointly promote a comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development.

The world economy is suffering for pandemic while big pharma companies are making profit sky high.

It is time to limit greed and work together for humanity, the trade balance need to be made from manufacturers to end users.

Mr Xi truly said, economic globalization is the trend. And we must follow the trend, The world is facing challenge of pandemic, so we need to fight like a tiger and conquer the evil, he said with reference to new chinese Year of Tiger. The world is a global village. We need to advance together for shared reward.

In his speech, the Chinese leader mentioned that We are not 190 small boats in this difficult sea, small boats collapse in wild tides. Rather we should think as a big Ship and master the rough sea. All should take vaccine, not only me it is about us.

Xi said Chinese vaccines are available worldwide, the president is determined to extend Chinese support in Africa and far destinations.

We also see hope in the firm commitment of president Xi, we want a safe world for all of us, unity is strength and it is proven today. The anti COVID-19 movements can’t be made successful without combined actions by the nations. COVID-19 is a global problem, no one is isolated or alone. Your problem is our problem. So it is time to be united and address the issue together, Research, good practice and action all need common approach for a safe world. See in Bangladesh we are taking precautions to tackle Omicron but same time “Kumb Mela (fair)” is organised in the other side of border which may result outburst of  pandemic again. If we look at Saudi- Yemen we can see record breaking weapon deals every day, do We really need it? No, we want peace and stability.

The Chinese leader rightly mentioned that it is not time for competition, it is time for co-operation. We appreciate the direction giving speech of president Xi. May his plans come in action for the betterment of the world and its inhabitants.
